Welcome to Monica & Anthony’s Love Story Session.
When Anthony contacted me and told me what he had planned, I knew I had to be the one to capture it. The entire session was planned with intention from start to finish to ensure a seamless transition from photoshoot to proposal.
What began as a playful couple’s session wandering through Detroit’s Eastern Market turned into something much more unforgettable. We met in the iconic Shed 5, and walked around the area searching for the most colorful areas for their portraits before moving over to the Detroit Institute of Arts.
The Detroit Institute of Arts has long been one of the city’s most cinematic backdrops, and for Anthony & Monica, it became the setting of their love story’s next chapter. On the front steps of the DIA, everything we had been planning unfolded in real time, and I had the honor of documenting it (and shedding a few tears too) as it happened.
The joy my couples experience is so tangible, so pure—I am always blown away by how powerful moments like these are. And at the end of it all, I am given the role of the documentarian, making sure these emotions are perfectly preserved to be revisited in the years to come. Proposal photography is a keepsake that I’m grateful to offer to my couples.
