Welcome to Olivia & Michael’s Love Story Session.
We met as the setting sun hung low in the sky, and began our shoot exploring the library’s side garden. Two lovers enjoying a cool June night, walking and whispering sweet words to one another—I’m a fly on the wall, unobtrusively capturing their experience with a documentary eye.
The Detroit Public Library sits opposite the Detroit Institute of Arts on Woodward Ave, and while it’s not often a photography hotspot, I think it ought to become one. It’s a perfect area for couples who want a sophisticated place to shoot without the crowds that you might see at more well-loved Detroit engagement shoot locations, like The Guardian Building or Book Tower.
When dusk set in and the streetlights came on, we made our way down Woodward to my old neighborhood, Grand Circus Park, where Olivia & Michael took film-inspired flash portraits beside the fountain and danced the night away beneath the string lights.
I believe every chapter of your love story is worth documenting. If you’re planning an engagement session and want photographs that feel like you—as natural as they are timeless—I’d love to connect. Reach out to me here and let’s talk.
